WHAT A GEM
Our new garden was a wasteland, just a few straggly roses and lots of bindweed. We cleared the plot and lowered the stone wall to enjoy the view over the Hope Valley. In doing so, we found several large pieces of Blue John, a semi-precious gemstone found only in Castleton. We filled our oasis with cottage garden plants and feeders for the birds.
