What is hay fever?

Seasonal allergic rhinitis, or hay fever, affects around one in five people in the UK, with the triggers being pollen and grass. It’s essentially an allergic reaction to pollen, which causes symptoms such as itchy and watery eyes, sneezing, coughing or a runny nose.
