Falling for foliage
Autumn’s amazing colour palette makes October and November the best months for a woodland walk. And if you’re looking for inspiration there are hundreds of routes you can download from the National Trust website, such as a trail through the beech, oak and lime trees of the Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire (pictured) or the ancient tree walk at Petworth Park in West Sussex where you can marvel at some of the oldest and largest trees in the country, including a 1,000-year-old oak.
