Jungle

Rewind to 1981, when gap yahs were the epitome of real adventure. Greg McLean and Justin Monjo’s adventure-drama harnesses that wonderment and terror, as Daniel Radcliffe’s Israeli traveller embarks on a trek into the Bolivian jungle under the steer of a rugged but dubiously stable Bear Grylls-type, only to find himself careering down the proverbial shit creek with no sight of a paddle.

Radcliffe commits, with body horror and jungle tortures in abundance – and his travails are certainly never less than gripping.

But in a year when The Lost City of Z told a similar story with more wonderment and mystique, it’s hard not to draw the obvious comparison.
