Fifteen years after her last album, the queen of country-pop is back. Now presents a slightly more melancholy

Shania than you might remember from her 1997 blockbuster Come On Over. “Still can’t believe he’d leave me, to love her,” she sings on Poor Me, presumably referencing the ex-husband (and former musical collaborator) who cheated on her with a close friend. But her songwriting remains as relatable and hook-filled as ever: Life’s About to Get Good, Swinging with my Eyes Closed and We Got Something they Don’t are country bops worth digging out your sparkly cowboy hat for.
