…on being an author vs a filmmaker
To me, it’s the same thing because I’ve written every one of my films, I’ve written every one of my books, I’ve written every one of my spokenword shows. I would never make a movie I didn’t write, I don’t ever read scripts and I’d have no idea how to do it because, for me, thinking up everything is the fun part of it. Making a movie is basically a science project where the idea, the dialogue and the characters are the most important thing.
