Phoebe

Nose: Really punchy with juniper from the off, followed by a sweet and tangy herbaceous kick.

Palate: The greenery has become a little more floral – think dandelion, joined by some serious zest, juicy lemon peels to be specific. Slightly spicier juniper than the nose initially provided.

Finish: Dry and spicy.

Comments: A good attempt at the style. Playing up the zest in this could make it a little more fun.

David

Nose: Green and resinous with a good dose of juniper and woody angelica with an earthy sweetness.

Palate: Initial flavours of pine are joined by a leafy oiliness and the gentle bitterness of zesty citrus. Earthy root notes wrap up the palate, which is altogether rather forest-like.

Finish: This has a reasonable amount of residual heat and an exceptionally dry finish, before a final flourish of fresh, leafy flavours.

Comments: A clean gin that would work well in a dry Martini with a twist of lemon.
