Archie Rose Distilling Co. was founded by Will Edwards in Sydney in 2014, with a mission to reignite Australia’s distilling industry and produce highquality gin, vodka, rum, and whisky showcasing an array of native and local ingredients. Four key tenets underpin its spirit-making philosophy: innovation, quality, authenticity, and education. Archie Rose uses custom-designed pot-column hybrid vacuum stills to produce its gins, which allow botanicals to be cold distilled. Its core gin line-up includes Signature Dry Gin, Distiller’s Strength Gin, and Bone Dry Gin. The distillery partners with Indigenous and other growers around Australia to source its botanicals, which include lemon myrtle, river mint, and Dorrigo pepperleaf. It also maintains its own beehives and harvests the honey for distillation. In 2022, Archie Rose launched its Fundamental Spirits range, designed to offer high-quality spirits at a more accessible price point. The range includes Straight Dry Gin, distilled at the company’s Botany Distillery, which has scored a nationwide listing through retailer Dan Murphy’s and been made a house-pour gin in several leading Australian bars. Other gin releases over the past 18 months include the Sunrise Lime and Lemon Scented Gum gins, both part of Archie Rose’s Harvest range that celebrates vintages of Australian native ingredients.
