LLANTWIT Major Cavaliers were well beaten at Drefach who bowled and batted much the better.

They asked their hosts to bat and got Dafydd Griffiths for a duck. But that was the end of the good news as opener Dafydd Humphreys (44) and skipper Adam Goodman (32) then put on 62 for the second wicket.

Osian Evans made 29 and James Carter 25 as Drefach posted 195-9 off their 50 overs.

For the Cavaliers, Mike Wood had 10-2-31-3, Alex Davidson 10-1-40-2 and Julian Griffiths 10-0-45-2.

The Cavaliers were soon 18-3 and although Davidson (22), Jonathan Cheal (22) and James Thomas (21) offered some resistance, they were dismissed for 107 in 35 overs.

For Drefach, Rob Seymour took 8-3-13-3, Owen Donovan 10-2-18-2 and Leigh Davies 8-1-19-2.

MAESTEG had an easy victory over visitors Pontyberem after winning the toss and putting them in.

Craig Evans scored 20 but top scorer was extras with 28 and they were all out for 74 in 24.4 overs.

Callum Walters took 9.4-2-31-4, Lee Morgan 10-3-15-3 and Martin Hood 5-2-14-3.

Andrew King (32no with three fours) and Ryan Parry (31 with four boundaries) knocked off the runs in 19.1 overs.
