Parc Calon Lan: There will be a performance of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet by the award winning Taking Flight Theatre Company. The event is taking place on Wednesday, July 27, at Parc Calon Lan, Blaengarw at 6pm.

Tickets are available at the main park entrance or from Valley and Vale Community Arts, prices are £3.50 – adult, £2.50 – concession, £10 – family ticket. Refreshments will be available.

Arts Summer School: There will be an Arts Summer School Sunshine Sweets & Chocolate Rivers, a week of drama, art, music, fun and games exploring the world of Roald Dahl at Blaengarw Workmen’s Hall on August 1-5, 10.30am3pm, for 7-14 year olds (under 7s must be supervised by an adult). Places on the Summer School are free.

Slimtone Fundraising: Thankyou to all the members of our class at Blaengarw Rugby Club for the generous donation of £522 from their charity fund for Cwm Garw Practice.

This will be used towards a 24 hour Blood Pressure Monitor which will help so many in our community, Special thanks to Gerwyn, Pontycymmer Co-op and the members who contributed to the charity raffle.

Congratulations also to Sue Russell and the members of Dan y Mynydd class who collected £130 at a special coffee morning for Marie Curie.

We have been able to help so many worthy causes over the years thanks to the generosity of our members in all our Slimtone classes.
