Recess gives time to visit constituency
RECESS periods are a chance to catch up with work in the constituency and spend time visiting various charities, businesses and local groups across Ogmore.
In the last two weeks I’ve spent time visiting postal workers, local skills and training providers as well as supporting community events such as the Evanstown Fun Run, opening the Glyn Ogwr Lodges and attending the excellent Back to the 80s performance at Pencoed Comprehensive School
During the last month we have seen a new Prime Minister appointed, as opposed to being elected to office.
The lack of democratic mandate for Mrs May’s appointment is clear and only time will tell if she will keep to her commitment to work for everyone in the UK.
Before Parliament rose for the recess I was delighted to be appointed to the Welsh Affairs select Committee.
I’m looking forward to the challenge of the committees ongoing work in ensuring the UK Government continue to prioritise Wales on a national level including support for our economy and job creation.
The appointment is in addition to my work on the Justice Select committee which will start an enquiry shortly into the UK government’s prison reforms.
As the process of setting up my constituency office in Pencoed nears completion I would like to draw reader’s attention to my new website – www. chriselmore.co.uk the site contains the latest updates on my work locally and in Parliament, as well as advice surgery information.
