KEV KICKS OFF

- With Kevin Ellis

I HAVE got to say well done to all the GB team at the Rio Olympics. We ended up coming second in the medal table behind the USA which is an awesome effort.

It’s great to see the Welsh athletes doing well too, Rio did a fantastic job and now it’s Tokyo in four years time. Can’t wait!

I see the British Lions are going to name the head coach for the 2017 tour to New Zealand on September 7 with Warren Gatland being the massive favourite.

Eddie Jones is unavailable otherwise he would have been joint favourite with Gatland after a superb start as England head coach.

This weekend Allan Bateman and I head to Wembley for the rugby league Challenge Cup final.

We have been invited by the soldiers league who arrange dinners for our fallen heroes and families,

It’s great that our old club Warrington is at the final playing favourites Hull FC!

I see the Aussies bugged the All Blacks hotel. Someone planted a listening device in their team room.

Obviously they didn’t hear much coz the Aussies got stuffed!

I see the regions had mixed fortunes on the weekend.

The Ospreys and Blues had victories and Scarlets and Dragons went down.

I’m sure teams are trying new combinations out.

Good luck to all our regions and premiership teams for new season.

It’s good to see Rhys Webb training hard on is holidays and looking forward to playing again after losing all the games on the tour to New Zealand, Webby was one of the Welsh players too star on the tour.

Let’s hope he has a injury free year and gets on that lions tour. Question: What do you think of GB winning 67 medals at Rio?

I think it’s absolutely superb and for Welsh competitors to get 10 medals is outstanding. I think the more funding they have, the better.

Good luck now to all the Paralympians starting soon.
