Bridgend Civic Trust: Another series of popular guided walks has been devised, beginning with The Oldcastle Area of Bridgend on Saturday, September 10; meet at 11am outside Nolton Church. On September 17, Bridgend 500 event to support Bridgend Town Council, who are holding special celebratio­ns as 2016 is recognised as being the 500th anniversar­y of the original Town Charter.

Wick Chapel: Harvest Thanksgivi­ng Service at 3 pm on Sunday, September 11. All welcome. Contributi­ons of dry goods and tins would be much appreciate­d and will be given to Porthcawl Food Bank.

Mothers’ Union: At the monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 13, Adrian Warner will be giving one of his interestin­g talks with slides titled Out and About.

Church News: On September 24, there will be a Safari Supper; first and second courses are held at various venues with dessert in the Church Hall followed by an evening with Griff and Dave. Please book your place with Robert Carveth and let him know if you would like to host a starter or main course. St Bridget’s Harvest Eucharist and Parish Lunch on 2 October. American Hotdog Quiz in the Church Hall at 7.30pm on Friday, November 11.
