Garw Valley Heritage Society: The Tabernacle Chapel in Pontycymer will be holding a special event on Saturday, September 17, from 10am-4pm, hosted by the Garw Valley Heritage Society as part of a Cadw Open Doors Project.

This will provide an unique opportunit­y to take a guided tour of the chapel and vestry of this Grade II listed building, and to visit the exhibition of Garw Life displayed in the vestry.

Organist Mr Peter David will be playing the famous organ, appearing between 12noon and 2pm. Free admission, light refreshmen­ts available.

The address for the Tabernacle is CF32 8HE, on the corner of Albany Road and Meadow Street, Pontycymer.

Garw Valkey Wanderers Womens XV: The newly formed Garw valley wanderers Womens XV came off second best to a strong Morriston Womens XV (away), on Sunday, September 4, losing 52-0.

The Garw Valley Wanderers are gaining momentum with lots of local people helping out in this new venture.

On Friday, September 23, the Garw Valley Wanderers will be holding a fund raising evening at the Top Club, Blaengarw with doors open 7pm.

Bridgend Castle Players: The Players will be holding their 70th Anniversar­y celebratio­n on Saturday, September 24, at Bridgend Tennis Club. Doors open 7.30pm.
