Davies, the great and well loved Bryan Dabies’ daughter.

Songs from Francesco Paola Tosti were later followed by Bellini and at one point, he went down on his knees to sing Mamma to Mrs Mary Hodges, Alun’s mother. This brought tears to many an eye.

The finale was extra special because Luis joined the Gleemen for their last two items – Perhaps Love and Nessum Dorma, which raised the rafters, so great was the applause.

A rider to this was that, on the friday, the choir sang outside Spac Savers in Bridgend in aid of Ty Hafan and who suddenly joined them was Luis, singing Nesun Dorma!

This of course caused havoc as passers-by stopped on their tracks
