FAW TROPHY

CRC RANGERS .............. 0 LLANGYNWYD RANGERS ...................... 2

LLANGYNWYD Rangers took a scrappy tie against Morriston side CRC Rangers to make progress in the FAW Trophy, writes Tony Poole.

The Llan Siro boys will now host Highadmit South Wales Premier League colleagues Brecon Corries in the next round on October 15.

They made an express start in the Swansea suburbs and got their noses in front after 20 minutes.

Jack Thomas shot them in front, and soon after, Chris Lewis had the misfortune to see the ball bobble just when he was about to pull the trigger.

The ball flew wide from close range and towards the end of the half, CRC came more into the game and threatened to relieve Llan of the lead.

But, significantly, they clung on and they sealed the win in the 75th minute after hungry Lloyd Ham was released from the bench.

A sweet cross from Lloyd Howells ran into his path and a bread and butter Ham goal sent them into the next round.

Close to time, CRC were reduced to 10 men but by this stage the die had already been cast.

And Llan Rangers Youth came from a goal down to gain a 5-2 win over Baglan Boys Club.

With Izaak Horn blowing hot, he soon levelled, and a headed goal from Callum Buttle sent them in front.

Buttle struck again before half time – Llan 3-1 up at the break – and Baglan were forced to adopt route one tactics.

This proved food and drink for Aaron John and his thoughtful passes led to Morgan Williams scoring two fine goals.

Though manager Rob Gray rang the changes late on and Baglan pulled a goal back, Llan were home and dry.
