HEOL-Y-CYW ............... 10 RUMNEY ...................... 25

WITH non-stop rain from kick off to the final whistle, Heol-y-Cyw fought well but came up second best on the day.

Cyw had a strong squad to face Rumney but in the first few plays, you could tell it would be the forwards who played the biggest part.

Rumney quickly added points with a penalty.

Continuing pressure from Rumney tested the defence of the home team but with a scrum deep in the Cyw half, scrum half Chris Milton went in for the first try of the game.

In a very similar situation, Milton got his second try 15 minutes later, this time converted.

Cyw then took the game to Rumney with strong running from flanker Rhys Pope making many yards.

Rumney gave away a penalty and outside half Paul Short opened Heoly-Cyw’s account.

Rumney then repeated the two previous tries with Milton getting his hattrick from the back of the scrum to make it 22-3 at half time.

After a penalty by Rumney, the home backs showed their quality with solid running from young wingers Jordan Fox and Lewis Gibson. No 8 Stuart Nation showed his strength, beating off three Rumney players to go score in the corner and Short added the conversion.

Heol-y-Cyw showed great potential and look to return to winning ways soon.
