Waste Wood Recycling: A public meeting was held in the Grand Pavillion on Wednesday, September 14 to discuss the implications of the application to site a waste wood recycling plant in South Cornelly.
Some 400 people attended including the First Minister Carwyn Jones, together with several other AMs.
I attended purely as an observer in order to ‘protect’ my vote should it come before the planning committee of which I’m a member. I needed to know what concerns people had regarding this application.
The site applicants were invited to be part of the meeting but declined to attend. Everyone present thought that their non attendance was a disapointment.
A video was shown of a current waste wood plant which caused huge alarm among attendees.
Health issues were clearly the major concern to all, together with the site being so close to a petrol station.
Everyone attending were requested to send their concerns and observations to planning@bridgend.gov. uk.
Bridgend County Borough Council: I recently referred a section of highway in Heol Nant for replacement.
This has now been completed, There was a large section of M4 fence completely broken there too. I referred this to the Welsh Motorway Agency who are responsible. This has now been replaced.
A section of highway known as Fairfield, adjacent to Broadlands is also awaiting repair.
A number of potholes in Heol Maindy have been repaired too I have also requested part replacement to the bus shelter roof - opposite Capel y Pil, Fairfield. This is still awaiting repair following an inspection.
