Father and son on the score sheet

LLANHARAN 2NDS ...... 5

NANTYFFYLLON 2NDS ............................. 62

NANTY took control of this game from the start but unforced errors and a determined Llanharan defence initially kept them out frustrating the visitors.

After around 15 minutes Nanty did start to find their feet and outside half Tadhg Mcguckin broke through the defence and fed centre Rhys Jones who crossed for the first try of the match.

The Nanty scrum was solid against a very physical Llanharan pack and scrum half Ben Davies benefited from the solid platform when he picked up 10 yards out and darted over the line to increase their score.

Nanty’s backs began to find space out wide and the final two tries of the half belonged to winger Alex Rowlands who capitalised on their dominance.

With Mcguckin adding two conversions Nanty held a comfortable 24-0 lead at the break.

Llanharan fought back hard in the second half and their efforts were rewarded as they scored to close the gap but Nanty’s replacement full back Andrew Davies did not want to be outdone by his scrum half son Ben who had scored earlier in the game and when he took a pass from Rhys Jones he powered his way over the line to get Nanty’s second half points started.

As Nanty’s forwards punched hard in midfield again gaps started to appear on the wings and replacement wing Chadd George blasted over for the next 2 tries with further tries coming from outside half Tadhg Mcguckin and centre Paul Smith. With Mcguckin’s 4 conversions Nanty finished the match with a 62 points to 5 win and centre Iain Morris taking their Man Of The Match award displaying a great work ethic throughout.
