Côr Merched Cwm Llynfi: The choir will be supporting the restoratio­n fund of the Catholic Church of Our Lady and St Patrick, Monica Street, Maesteg, by singing in a concert on Friday, November 25.

Tickets cost £6 from church or choir members.

It will definitely be a ladies’ night as our guest soloist will be Sally-Anne Kingsbury.

The choir rehearses in the catholic church every Wednesday, 7pm-9pm.

Noteworthy: Their next concert is on Friday, December 16, when they will host the Annual Christmas Concert for Cancer Research UK at St Michael’s Church starting at 7pm. They will be joined by Cor Tadau Trisant and the soprano soloist Charlotte Ellett.

Parkinson’s Support: The Maesteg Parkinson’s Support Group meet at Maesteg Hospital on alternate Wednesdays at 2pm. They meet this week. Contact Bernard Franks on 01656 733560 for more informatio­n about meetings and activities.

Maesteg Market: Cabins will be up and running from Friday, December 2, and throughout the month with a fun little twist that some of the stalls will swap or move around to provide the town with a better choice in the build up to Christmas.

This is the first year we have tried this so please support us and our fantastic Christmas traders who will be in the rather fitting wooden cabins.
