BRIDGEND B saved the best for last in finishing like a steam train to derail bottom club Llanishen & Caerphilly.

It lifted the Ravens into a more secure mid-table position ahead of their final before the Christmas break away to Whitchurch F on Saturday.

The Ravens utilised the pace of on the money Gavin Pound wisely and cashed in from this source.

After Jonny Catton was fouled, Jonny Wilks plant- ed a screamer into a bottom corner of the net.

Though the visitors pressed on the restart, forcing the Ravens on the defensive, they weathered the storm.

And once goals began to flow there was only going to be one winner, Wilks netting on the back of a Catton assist.

It was the turn of Catton to get the third Bridgend goal from a penalty flick while delightful passing secured the final goal from the top of the D via Matthew Daly. campaign, the Ravens have now only won one of eight league matches this season and remain bottom.

They are now four points adrift of fellow strugglers Howardian Seconds and a further point shy of Cardiff University Seconds.

Bridgend Seconds are without a league match on Saturday and visit Howardian Thirds in a last game of the calendar year.
