BRIDGEND SECONDS .. 4 CARDIFF & MET FOURTHS ....................... 0

IT was celebration time for Bridgend Seconds who won a first league game of the season at the eighth attempt.

The Raven Chicks built victory over Cardiff Met Fourths around a solid midfield and Lauren Hancock’s half-hour of fame.

She worked well with round and on the restart, P&K golf star Tom Booth twice denied a Treforest revival.

Top scorer Andrew Fisher got an eighth goal of the season on the hour and soon after he was brought down in the box.

Ellis tucked away a second penalty of the game to complete a hat-trick – and six goals for the campaign – and made it 6-0.

The seventh and eighth goals went to pint-size attacker Morgan Thomas and late on Treforest were reduced to 10 men.

Marks rounded off the Porthcawl red letter day with a ninth and final goal – and the pop singer’s strike was richly deserved.

The win lifted the Seasiders two off bottom and with confidence restored, they will seek a double at Ynyshir Albion on Saturday. while another star showing from Ryan Blanche was deserving of a goal.

Former Betws star Arran Jefferies knocked in a pearler while Kristian Evans again showed he isn’t missing the bright lights of Bridgend super club Penybont.

Evans, who switched to Blandy Park last summer, was again on the Garw list of goal scorers.

“After a slow start, the boys warmed to their task and but for extravagant finishing, we should have won by an even bigger margin,” said Garw head of media Deri Lloyd.

Garw, who host Cardiff Hibernian on Saturday, head Aberfan by a point and the Blandy boys have three games in hand.
