CARDIFF UNIV MEDICS .......................... 8 BRIDGEND ..................... 0

BRIDGEND were on the wrong end of this conclusive scoreline against onfire Cardiff University Medics in Premier Two.

In one of the least convincing displays of the Thomas Warren along with Hayden Lau and Jack Germain.

Much-travelled Gareth Duffy returned as did Jorge Crofts, while Tom Marlow made an emotional Lock’s Lane return.

But they got off to a dream start when Jordan Marks was felled in the box, and Mattie Ellis converted the penalty.

A crafty curling freekick from Crofts then caught the goalkeeper out, and a rebound led to Ellis netting a second.

A Morgan Thomas shot was then only parried and Crofts appeared in the right place at the right time for 3-0.

A flowing move – involving Rob Davis, Joey Downes, Marlow and Mike Booth – ended in a free kick that Crofts curled in.

It was 4-0 a the turna- from as many starts this term, lifted them into top spot.

It’s also the first time for them to top a table since 2001 when they won Welsh League Division Two.

Despite the first half being easily forgettable, once more Harry Davies displayed outstanding form.

His pace is up there with Mark Sage in his pomp, and as the game unfolded so young Davies got better.

With the scoreline locked on 1-1 at half time, Garw recharged batteries and there were soon positives.

Speed merchant Harry Davies led the way with a delicious goal hat-trick
