BRIDGEND A ................. 2 CARDIFF MEDICS A .... 1

A GOAL brace from Jason Arnold kept Bridgend A in touch with leaders Cardiff University B.

The Ravens now trail the Students by two points going into an away game

But no card was produced only a free kick that Sam McCarthy fired into the wall and it was Cwmavon who then took the lead.

Star man James Forde motored past two defenders in the 40th minute and successfully chipped goalkeeper Brad Robinson.

But they only briefly led - Alex Treharne beat two men and planted a 40-metre rocket in the net, making it 1-1 at the break.

On the restart another massive call went to Cwmavon when Adam Jones was adjudged to have handled in the box.

But Robinson pulled off a wonderful save to keep out the Forde penalty, lifting Porthcawl spirits and more was then seen in attack from Geraint Davies and Evan Jones.

But it was the introduction of Andrew Bowden time in the league this term.

Scott Jones chipped the goalkeeper to give Bont a 28th-minute lead, and they doubled the lead a quarter of an hour on.

Ethan Nixon worked wonders down the left touchline and his cushioned cross was converted by polished Pole Rafaela Pacheloc.

It was 2-0 at the interval, but the second half was more evenly contested with Carne setting up a grandstand finish on the back of a 75th-minute strike.

And despite Bont boss Peter Godwin having to enter the fray, they somehow managed to cling on to all three points, condemning Carne to only a second league loss this
