We pay all those taxes for this?

- Ian Hampton Garth, Maesteg

SO it seems an exciting new chapter in the history of BCBC is about to commence as one of the exalted leaders of our council explained when outlining the proposed new waste collection service which starts in April.

It seems that household waste experts WRAP have now advised our council that householders in this socialist paradise need only put out two new pretty coloured bags of landfill waste a fortnight.

If you and your family are unable to carry out orders or you are an elderly person who finds it hard or impossible to carry out the strictures of recycling, hard luck; you are now obviously a pariah of society and if you continue in these actions a uniformed officer will knock on your door and will educate you in the error of your ways.!

I have also been informed from another source that if you are thinking of taking your bags to one of the renamed community recycling centres the staff there are to be issued with body cameras to check your bags for waste contraband. So be aware!

These actions are required for what was originally to conform with EU landfill law, but now if our council does not reach certain waste limit criteria it will be fined by the Welsh Assembly.

So the story so far, we over-charged taxpayers are to be brought into line by persons we employ come what may, and in some cases interrogated as criminals. Then, following on from this, if our council can’t reduce landfill by the required amount it will have to pay fines with money we have provided, to an elected organisation in Cardiff funded by us. And this is progress?
