Shanghi At Westward CC: All who attended Bridgend Lions’ Club Murder Mystery evening at Westward Community Centre last Friday evening agreed it was a resounding success.

The murder was set in The White Poppy Club in Shanghi in the 1930’s when gang warfare was frequent and brutal. The owner, had been stabbed through the heart with a chopstick.

Special thanks to the trustees of the community centre for allowing the use of the hall and to the audience who helped to clear it at the end of the evening.

Laleston Gardening Club: Members are reminded that the club’s not-forproft shop (The Cabin) reopened for business on January 28 after being shut for the previous three months.

The Cabin is open between 10am-12noon on Thursdays and Saturdays and new members are welcome to join before making their first purchase.

Lions Book Sale: Dates are Friday April 7; Saturday April 8; and Sunday April 9.

All book donations in good, clean condition will be gratefully received and can be delivered to Westward Community Centre, Cefn Glas (opp shops) any Sunday between 10.30am and 11.30am.
