SECOND-PLACED Red Dragon were looking to keep their momentum going and keep the pressure on the top of division one as they took on the Caeffatri.

The past few weeks have seen the Dragon record some big wins to reduce the lead to just two points. A clean sweep in the threes and pairs saw the Dragon race into a 5-0 lead. A 180 from Wayne Joseph helped the home side dominate the singles as the Dragon recorded an 11-1 scoreline. Andrew James got the Caeffatri’s only point, sending Dai Thomas to the 6-1 club.

With the Dragon winning, and having drawn their last three games, the Wicked Lady B had to get back to winning ways to maintain their slender lead in their home game against the GWR A which they did as they ran out 12-0 victors.

With the Canteen suffering such a heavy defeat, the 5 Bells had a chance to extend their lead at the top of league two in the away game against the BUSC A.

It was 1-1 after the threes, the Bells had a one-leg advantage going into the singles after taking the pairs 2-1.

Wins for Mark Keenan, Jason Grant, Phil John and Arnold Bater put the Bellmen in control to lead 7-2.

With the game lost, the War office fought back with Steve Jones, Glyn Gear and Mike Stanton claiming the final three games as the Bells ran out 7-5 winners to extend their lead at the top of division two to 18 points.

Elsewhere in the league, two 180s from Mathew Martin helped the Colliers to remain in third spot in division one with an 8-4 win away to the White Horse while a 148 out from Danial O’Brian for the Wicked Lady A was the highlight in their 8-4 win against the GWR B.

The Jolliers had a 10-2 win in their game against West House, Chris Lewis hit a 180 for the House men.

The derby match saw bragging rights go to the Cabo Kings with a 9-3 success over the Cabo B.

The final game this week saw a spirited Coach Drivers take on the Social.

Trailing 5-0 after the opening exchanges, Chris Packman made it 6-0 taking the first singles for the Social before Ethan Williams and Gethin Still got the Drivers first points.

Wins for Graham Crowley and Bleddyn Lyons, hitting a 180 in his leg, put the home side 8-2 up with Tom David and Oliver Ladbrooke claiming the final two games for the Coachmen as they eventually went down 8-4.
