CORNELLY UNITED ..... 0 YNYSHIR ALBION ........ 9

EMBARRASSING goes nowhere near to describ- ing this Cornelly capitulation against third-placed Ynyshir Albion, writes Tony Poole.

Three goals in as many minutes in the run up to half-time made it 5-0 at the turnaround.

Cornelly conceded a counter-attacking goal from a corner after just four minutes with Garin Hughes driving the ball past novice goalkeeper Lee Adams.

A shot on the turn from young Cornelly attacker Jake Roche looked destined for the bottom corner until Jason Pritchard had to pull off a rare save.

They doubled the lead in the 38th minute when Hughes directed a corner to the far post, and unmarked Dan Evans headed home.

But the final nails in the Cornelly coffin were driven home with two goals from Ceiron Mason and a Huw McGregor strike making it 5-0.

Even the Cornelly Youth Male Voice Choir briefly opted for the sweet shop, as their heroes continued to leak goals like a sieve.

Goals six, seven and eight went to Leon Anstee with McGregor getting the ninth on 82 minutes.

And with Cornelly go- ing down like flies, referee Richards mercifully put them out of their misery.

On this form, Cornelly will be hard pressed to give fellow strugglers Cogan Coronation a game at Meadow Street on Saturday.
