KEV KICKS OFF

- With Kevin Ellis

I HAVE got to say how fantastic Wales played for 73 minutes and deserved to win the game but unfortunately there was a loose kick from Jonathan Davies and George Ford and Owen Farrell combined with winger Elliot Daly to round Alex Cuthbert and score the winning try. All the Welsh squad players/ management were devastated but they can hold their heads up high. Now we can’t dwell on the England game. We lost, get over it. Prepare for the Scottish game!

I see Shane Williams has come out saying Rob Howley shouldn’t have selected Alex Cuthbert and should send him back to the Blues. I know Cuthbert is at a real low now and his confidence and form have vanished. His body language tells you he doesn’t want to be there. He didn’t have much to do last Saturday, more defence than attack, but couldn’t quite get that winger into touch. Maybe he should go back to the Blues to get his confidence back. Don’t forget he’s a Lion too. I’m not sure if Steffan Evans or Keelan Giles are the answer right now. Maybe in the future.

It wasn’t a good weekend for Wales Women who got hammered by the full-time professional players of England. They were scoring tries for fun, winning by more than 60 points. Wales U20s also lost but they did start well; however, England were too strong and fast.

The Ravens are having a dreadful losing run in the league. They just lost in Cross Keys last weekend. There’s strong rumours Simon King is looking to get back involved in coaching. I have got to say he’s a top, experienced coach and could do a fantastic job for any club. QUESTION: Do you think Rob Howley will make any changes?

It all depends on the injury situation. It will be interesting if Taulupe Faletau is fit. I would keep him on the bench as the whole back row was outstanding, so were Webb and Biggar, and if they keep up their form, they will all be on the Lions tour. Scotland are a much improved team and are playing a high tempo, 15-man game under Vern Cotter, but I do think we will win but it will be a close game.
