Residents to get their say on wellbeing
A NEW survey is asking residents for their views on how economic, social, cultural and environmental wellbeing can be improved in Bridgend county.
The Bridgend Public Services Board – which is made up of more than a dozen public sector and third sector organisations – has picked out a series of strengths and challenges across all aspects of local life and is inviting residents to comment on whether they agree with them.
The information will give the board a better understanding of what matters most to people and how organisations can work together now and in the future to plan and deliver services.
The Better Bridgend online survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and remains open until Sunday.
Bridgend council leader Huw David said: “The Bridgend Public Services Board has assessed the strengths and weaknesses that cover economic, social, cultural and environmental wellbeing in our local communities.
“For example, in terms of the economy, children’s educational achievements are rising, but we need to reduce the number of workless households. Meanwhile, childhood obesity is decreasing, but there is a below-average life expectancy.
“We’re asking local residents for their opinions on the strengths and challenges that have been identified. Their views will help to inform our work to create a better place we all want to live in now, and in the future”
The Bridgend Public Services Board replaced the former Local Service Board and is made up of the main public sector and community organisations operating in Bridgend County Borough.
