History Talk: The Bridgend Branch of the Glamorgan Family History Society will play host to Alan Underhill on Monday, March 20, at the Len Evans Centre, Heol Persondy, Aberkenfig, CF32 9RF. Alan’s talk will be on Beside The Seaside – Holidays of Yesteryear. Doors open 7pm, talk to start 7.30pm. Everyone welcome.

Lenten Lunches: ADUC are running lenten lunches in support of Y Bont each Saturday from 12noon-1.15pm. Those remaining are as follows – March 18 – at All Saints at Smyrna Hall Penyfai; March 25 – at Wesley Methodist at Tondu; April 1 – at St Roberts at St John Aberkenfig; and April 8 – at Nazareth Chapel Bryncethin.

Spiritual Healing: Spiritual healing is offered each Tuesday from 6pm7.30pm at Ynysawdre Community Centre (at the junction of Bryn Road and Heol-yr-Ysgol).

Nazareth Chapel: Nazareth Baptist Chapel Bryncethin holds a service at 4pm each Sunday, this week led by Mrs Nicholas Thomas-Bizjak.

Aberkenfig Spirituali­st: The Aberkenfig Spirituali­st Church in Pandy Road offers flower arranging today (Thursday) at 10.30am and an Open Circle at 7pm.

On Sundays, Divine Service is at 6pm led by Vanessa Follett. On Monday at 7pm there is Healing.

Thursday next there will be flower arranging as usual in the morning and at 7pm there will be an Open Circle.

Smyrna Pen-Y- Fai: Smyrna Baptist Chapel, Pen-y-Fai, would like to invite the children of the surroundin­g area who are aged four and over to join them on Sunday morning from 10.30am-12noon for stories, singing and fun with arts and craft work.

The Sunday Communion service is at 6pm and on March 19 is led by Smyrna’s Minister Rev Alwyn Evans.

All are very welcome to the service and to join us for refreshmen­ts in the vestry afterwards.

Coffee morning is held on Tuesday from 10am-12noon with good company and a raffle is also held in aid of local charities. Bible study takes place on Thursdays at 7.15pm and is led in turn by Mrs Marilyn James and Miss Dorothy Evans.
