Three picked to be new members of arts council
THREE new council members have been appointed to the Arts Council of Wales (ACW).
Kate Eden, Dr Rachel O’Riordan and Dafydd Rhys will start their new roles on April 1 – terms that will initially last three years. ACW council members are responsible for setting ACW’s aims and objectives, aligning these to the Welsh Government’s strategic priorities and ensuring funding in Wales is invested effectively.
The three are in addition to two members ap- pointed last November.
The council now has 13 members plus chairman Dr Phil George.
Ken Skates, Cabinet Secretary for Economy, said: “I am pleased to announce the appointment of these three new council members who have enormous personal and professional experience in the arts but come from completely different back-grounds.
“Their skills, knowledge and expertise will add to the current strengths of the council during a period of transi- tion as it faces up to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Mr George added: “I’m delighted to welcome the new members who will bring a wealth of skills and experience, as well as a passion for the arts, to our council.”
