LEE Jefford completed a quickfire Six Nations double, taking the Irish event on the back of a sizzling 39 Stableford points.

With Jefford on such a hot streak, it frightened off the likes of ex-Tondu cricket star Gary Donnachie, but he nevertheless required countback to get the better of P Groom.

Jefford, playing off a bandit handicap of 13, went birdie on hole six and matched par eight times to follow up a twopoint victory over Dave Scourfield in the England event.

Runner-up Groom had nine pars on his card while captain fantastic Neil Channell had to be satisfied with third spot.

He came in with 38 points having birdied the first, 11th and 13th holes and got a two on Alcatraz (hole 10).

But Channell is probably still kicking himself for botching up holes two and 12.

Neil Baker rose to the occasion with 37 points for fourth spot, and on the same mark came Gareth Thomas (six pars), Gareth Leek (nine pars), and Christopher Cotter (birdie on hole four).

Par 36 points was achieved by eighth-placed Derek Luckwell (two on 10) and Roy Denton (birdie on first hole).
