BRIDGEND A ................. 8 SWANSEA CITY B ......... 1

IT WILL be winner takes all on Saturday when Bridgend A travel to Penarth with the second promotion spot the glittering prize, writes Tony Poole.

With Cardiff University B crowned champions weeks ago, just one point now separates secondplaced Penarth A and their Bridgend counterparts.

So, whoever wins on Saturday will move up a tier and Penarth were in equally fine form last weekend, thundering to a magnificent 7-2 win at Swansea University B.

Though the Ravens were in a chirpy mood from the outset, it took them a quarter of an hour to hit the right note.

Jason Arnold opened the scoring and it wasn’t long before Andy Schofield left Swansea in a damage limitation mode.

And with Paul Davies able to consistently link with the wide men, the Ravens continued to rule the roost.

Goals flowed like fine wine from Andrew Jones, Nicholas Anthony and Rhodri Owen, making it 5-0 at the changeover.

Moving the ball well from the back via Matt Wooster, Phil Rees and Robbie Evans, it led to Jonny Rubery and Jacob Hodges having a field day.

Steve Murphy got the next Bridgend goal, and it was followed by second goals on the day from Andrew Jones and Arnold.

Though Swansea completed the scoring late on, it was of consolation value only.

Now the Bridgend A season hinges on one match – Penarth away on Saturday.
