BRIDGEND B ................. 2 WHITCHURCH F ........... 5

THINGS didn’t go to plan for Bridgend B during their final league game of the season against Whitchurch F.

However, that didn’t seem the case early on when everything in the garden was rosy, and Matthew Daly squeezed a shot home.

But the Ravens soon had their wings clipped, as Whitchurch feathered their nest on the back of three quickfire goals.

Half-time arrived with Bridgend 3-1 in arrears, and it afforded an opportunity to get their act together.

The second period turned into a real bunfight, as both sides battled for supremacy.

But the Ravens were right back in it when Tommy Rosser broke, found captain Jonny Murphy and a one-two with Jack Steer resulted in him steering the ball home.

But that’s as good as it got for Bridgend, who then went down to 10 men, and Whitchurch carved out two late goals.

This meant Bridgend B finished the season with a record of six wins and two draws from 14 league matches – and in all probability it will result in a fifth-place finish.
