PENCOED shot to the top of Division One on the strength of this landslide victory over FC Maesteg at Felindre Road, writes Tony Poole.

In what has turned into a three-way battle for supremacy at the top, Pencoed have extracted 26 points out of 12 games.

Carne Rovers from the same amount of completed matches have 24 points while third-placed Caerau All Whites on 23 points have a game in hand.

So, there remains everything to play for during the business end of the season.

And the man who did the business on this occasion for Pencoed was on-fire Matt Bowen, who scored a remarkable five goals.

Jimmy King crowned another tip-top display in bagging a goal brace while Tommy Loosemore did likewise.
