FORWARD PLANNING

FOR CONSERVATORIES AND ORANGERIES

-

Conservatories and orangeries are probably the most straightforward and quickly constructed of all home extensions, but like any building project they do take time. Having built and project managed hundreds of conservatories and orangeries, in our experience from initial consultation through to completion is likely to take months rather than weeks. Decisions such as how you will use the room, the design, layout and materials are not something to rush. Once you’ve got your initial ideas, an experienced conservatory or orangery specialist will work with you to turn these suggestions into a room that fits your lifestyle On a practical level, if your home has previously been extended or the drainage needs to be moved, it will take time to get the necessary approvals. At Securahome we always project manage the approval process and expect local authority planning permission to take at least 10 weeks, with sewer agreements often involving a similar timescale. All things considered, once you’ve made the decision to go ahead, it could take three or four months before you can put your feet up and enjoy your new room. However, having invested the time to design, plan and build it properly we think you’ll agree that your new conservatory or orangery will be more than worth the wait!
