NEIGHBOURS living in one street in Porthcawl are in the money after sharing £150,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

PEOPLE living in one Porthcawl street are now significantly richer after sharing £150,000 in prize money.

Their postcode, CF36 3HB, won the People’s Postcode Lottery’s Street Prize.

Three of the Victoria Avenue neighbours landed £30,000 each, while a fourth plays with two tickets so doubled the prize to £60,000.

Annmarie Rodgers, who won £30,000, said: “It was fantastic to win with our neighbours and be able to share the excitement with them.

“Even people who don’t play were out in the street congratulating us.

“I think my husband Steve and I will go on a couple of holidays with the winnings – we’re thinking Thailand and Morocco – and we’ll probably get some new furniture for the house.

“After that we’ll just wait and see, but it’s amazing to have won so much.”

Andrew Staley plays with two tickets so landed £60,000.

“I’ve played with two tickets since we signed up – one for me and one for my wife Anne.

“It’s really paid off now, and also fantastic that so much money from the tickets goes to charity too.

“We’ve got two children in their twenties so we’ll give them both some money each, and we’ll need to have a good think about what to do with the rest.”

Matt Johnson, People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador, said: “I love surprising winners with nice big cheques and Andrew and Annmarie couldn’t have been happier to see me. I’m so pleased for them.”

There were two other £30,000 winners who were not available to receive their cheques.

A minimum of 30% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £182m to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A project near the winners that has received support from players is Manage Money Wales, which was awarded £1,959 last year to run financial literacy courses.
