Rail lost property goes online

-

TRAIN travellers who lose items on journeys or at stations will have the chance to reclaim their possessions thanks to a new online lost property service being trialled in Wales.

Arriva Trains Wales will be running a two-month trial of FindMyLost, a digital “lost and found” network which aims to reunite customers with lost items.

If an item is found a description and location will be put on the website and app.

Anyone who has lost something can then search for it online and contact the lost property office to arrange to collect it or have it sent back.

Users can set up alerts which notify them if their lost item has been found.

Barry Lloyd, head of customer experience at Arriva Trains Wales, said: “We recognise that reclaiming lost property can be quite stressful for customers so we are really excited to trial this new system which we hope will really improve the overall experience.

“We look forward to learning from the trial and hope that we will end up with a really easy to use system which will really help anyone that loses property when travelling with us.”

Delphine Merlot, head of innovation and partnerships at Rail Delivery Group, said: “Losing a personal item is stressful enough without having to go through a complicated process to find it. We want customers to test this innovative technology with us. FindMy Lost is simple and can save a lot of time and trouble, a quick and easy ‘self-service’ way for customers to search for and claim what they’ve lost.”
