MAESTEG CELTIC ...... 48 ABERAVON GREEN STARS ............................. 0

MAESTEG Celtic entertained bottom side Aberavon Green Stars but the Green Stars only had 14 players to start the game.

They began the game bravely and had a lot of possession in the Celtic half. Celtic opened the scoring in typical fashion, outside half Lloyd Jenkins kicked a long penalty into the corner, hooker Ashley Poole found Alex Jones from the lineout and the pack pushed him over the line.

Celtic’s next try was a beauty. Lloyd Jenkins passed to centre Kristian Jenkins on the burst. He ran into the 22 before passing to flanker Jonathan Davies who scored. Jonathan returned the compliment for the third try when he put Kristian over near the posts. Lloyd Jenkins converted.

Green Stars then lost a prop and had to go to passive scrums. Scrum half Morgan Lloyd set up the next try for Kristian Jenkins when he made a great break into the 22 and put Kristian over under the posts. Lloyd Jenkins converted. Celtic’s next try came from a lineout in the Green Stars 22. Second row Nathan Jenkins ran strongly and crashed over the line.

The second half continued in the same vein with forwards and backs com- bining well. Prop Sean Lambert had a solo run to the line but was barged into touch at the flag. Kristian’s third try came when Nathan Jenkins picked up a loose ball and broke the defensive line. He passed to Kristian who ran in unopposed. Kristian also converted.

Winger Scott Wilkins caught a kick ahead and ran the ball back. He then kicked ahead and tackled the defender. The ball popped out and Jonathan Davies was there to run in his second try.

The game ended when Mark Hillier-Rees won the ball and he passed to Morgan Lloyd who saw Kristian Jenkins coming up fast. He put him clear for a 40yd run to the posts for his fourth try. Lloyd Jenkins converted.
