AFTER lasts week’s battle at the top of the league, this week saw two of the sides involved at the other end of the table do battle to avoid the drop.

The Cabo Kings travelled to the Caeffatri.

All-square after the threes, the Kingsmen edged the pairs to lead 3-2.

The Caeffatri came back to claim the singles 6-1 as the away side collapsed with Martin Timbrell claiming the Cabo’s only leg sending Andrew Phillips to the 6-1 club as the Caeffatri ran out 8-4 victors.

In Division Two, all the teams involved in the title race found themselves against First Division opposition.

Leaders the Five Bells lost 8-4 to Aberkenfig Social while second placed the GWR A went down 9-3 away to the BUSC B. Ray Morris hit a 151 out for the war office.

The GWR B fell further behind the top two as they lost 10-2 to Division One leaders the Wicked Lady B.

A 180 from Chris Hyde helped the Cabo to an 8-4 victory over West House to record only their third win of the season.

A 108 out from Roy Davies and a 16-dart leg from Russell Wilks saw the Jolliers beat the Coach Drivers 11-1.

The final game to report was an all-Division One clash as the Wicked Lady A played host to the Colliers.

1-1 after the threes, the Coalmen took a one-leg advantage into the singles. Colin Brewster brought the Lady boys level at 3-3 before Andrew Hermoile put the away side back in front in the next.

A 13-dart leg from Steve Price helped the Wicked

lads hit back as they took the next three legs to lead 6-4.

Victories for Phil “Pooler” Jones and James Owen for the Coalmen brought the game to an entertaini­ng 6-6 final score.
