GARW Reserves hit their Llanharry counterparts for six during this Division Two end of season romp at the Recreation Ground, writes Tony Poole.
In a final outing of the season for the Blandy boys, who finished the season in sixth spot, they won a high percentage of first-half possession.
It led to them opening up a 4-0 scoreline with electric sweeper Dai Broom brushing in a hattrick to place alongside a Luke Dent header that dented the net.
It was a shame only iconic Garw Valley sportsman Deri Lloyd and his dog attended, as the entertainment value was high. .
He saw son Owain keep a clean sheet until around the hour, but Llanharry went on to net three times (one from the penalty spot).
Mark Wood chopped in the fifth Garw goal while bobby dazzler wing man Damian Bernard got their final offering on the night.
Garw completed the season with a record showing seven wins and four draws from 18 league outings.
Division Two was ultimately won by Llangeinor, who pipped at the post long-time leaders Caerau Development Squad.
The turning point came on April 8 when Llan carded a vital 3-1 win over Caerau at the Riverboat.
However, both sides are eligible for promotion.
Caerau also bowed out of the Shearan Scaffolding Division Two Cup, going down 4-3 at the semi-final stage to Sarn.
A wonder Shearan freekick - that would have graced national television - was followed by the scaffolding baron converting a penalty while Kyle Dickinson was also on target. worthy as dynamite Jack Delve was an absentee.
On a cold and sunny night in the heart of the Rhondda Valley, the Felindre Road boys dug deep to mine another win.
Marc Turner turned in another fine showing, as did Sam Brown in an unaccustomed role up top, while nimble Adam Brimble had the Brimblettes purring.
Though Richie Lewis twice went close, it was goal-less at the turnaround with Ton turning up the volume on the resumption.
