Coychurch WI May Annual Meeting: President Sandra Davidson welcomed the members, guests, especially Carolyn Davies our WI Advisor.

As is customary this meeting commenced with the singing of Jerusalem.

The business of the evening included:

Coach to the Mumbles Fashion Show booked cost £10pp. One seat still available.

Sandra has booked the Longbowl restaurant for lunch following the visit to the Royal Mint.

The booking arrangemen­ts are all in hand for the Ladies Race Day to be held in Treoes.

Menu choices for the Abbey Cwm Hir visit are now available.

Clipboards are available for our centenary visit to Liverpool 2018 and the visit to Chatsworth House in November 2017.

Sandra will host a Coffee Morning at 10am at her home on Tuesday, June 13, £3 entry, in order to raise funds towards our 100th birthday party.

Sandra will be willing to organise a coach for a day visit to Denman.

The two Resolution­s for 2017 – Alleviatin­g Loneliness and Microplast­ic and Fibres in the Ocean were read, discussed and voted upon.

The financial report was given by the treasurer Penny Gregory.

The secretary’s report was received from Sue Elworthy and the president Sandra Davidson read her address.

Sandra sincerely thanked all the committee members for their loyal support and input over the past year along with the attending members support at the meetings.

Sandra was re-elected as president for the ensuing year and the new committee consists of: Val Moore (vice chair), Sue Elworthy (secretary), Penny Gregory (treasurer), Ann Davies, Mary Evans, Diane Hall, Ann Harper and Sandra Rich.

The meeting concluded with a buffet, tea and coffee.

The next meeting will be held on June 6 in the Williams Memorial Hall at 7.30pm. The guest speaker Yolande Fret-Howells topic will be Hat Making. All welcome. Janet James
