Defibrilla­tor Presentati­on: The defibrilla­tor with accompanyi­ng plaque was presented and erected at The Evergreen Hall, Bridgend by Bridgend Lions in memory of Chartered Member Lion Ken Willis and Past President on two occasions Lion Phil Davies who both sadly passed away last year and are sorely missed by the Club members.

Donations in lieu of funeral flowers and a sponsored half marathon run in their memory by Lion Sarah Harris raised sufficient funds to enable the installati­on of the defibrilla­tor at this venue.

Laleston Church Fete: St David’s Church village fete is taking place this year on Saturday, June 17, in the grounds of the Blandy Hall Laleston, starting at 12 noon.

The children’s fancy dress competitio­n will be held at 1pm, followed by a fun dog show at 2.30pm. There will be a BBQ, tombola, craft stalls, book sale, as well as cakes, jewellery and much more.

Games and a bouncy castle will keep the children happy.

Westward Community Centre: Cefn Glas Over 50s meet every Friday from 2pm at the centre.
