Ogmore Vale Primary School: Come along and join the PTA at the school this Thursday, June 22 for a cheese and wine evening. This starts at 6pm and all welcome but please can you ring the school on 01656 815640 (press option 2) and tell them you’re going to the event by 3pm on the day so that they know numbers.

Ogmore Crafting Ladies: Ogmore crafting ladies would like to thank everyone who came to support them on June 3 for a fundraisin­g day at the Bowls Club, Ogmore Vale. They raised £500 and a cheque was presented to the Ogmore Valley Priide. A big thank you to everyone that came on the day.

Ladies’ Boxfit: The Nantymoel Armature Boxing Club meets every Monday and Wednesday for a ladies’ Boxfit.

This is on the following nights from 6pm-7pm with a cost of £4 each.

The club is at Bethania Row, but the entrance is at the back on High Street (opposite the Non Political Club).

Ogmore Vale Community Tennis Club: Ogmore Vale has had two tennis courts, attached to the Ogmore Vale Bowling Club on Park Avenue, for several years, but are very rarely used.

We have two hard courts from which we will be Southerndo­wn.

Community Council: The Vice Chair for the current year is Gerald Stevens.

Sad News: The funeral of Kathleen Nicholas from Ogmore by Sea took place on Wednesday, June 13.

Condolence­s to her husband Howard and family. Kathleen was a faithful member of the parish churches and a member of many organisati­ons such as Mothers Union, ORRA, Tea & Chat and more. St Bridget’s Church Summer Fair: This will be held in the Church Hall and Vicarage Gardens on playing social tennis every Tuesday, from 6pm-8pm and Sundays, from 10am12noon throughout the summer. We will also be running two FAST4 Tournament­s each month which is a quick and exciting new format of tennis.

Social membership for adults is £25, seniors and juniors £15 for the year – this will give you full access to the club at any time. Entry to tournament­s is £5. We welcome all standards and are a relaxed and social group. Tennis is a great way to get fit have fun socialise and compete anyone interested please message me back and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Blackmill Over 50s: Blackmill Over 50s meet at The Local Community Centre on Wednesdays at 7pm, new members welcome.

This is a social gathering and occasional­ly a trip to the theatre or a meal out is arranged.

Nantymoel Knitters Class: We are members of a Knitting Club who live in Nantymoel. We meet twice a week at Dinam Close every Tuesday and Friday at 10am to noon.

We are always looking for new members and all our efforts are to make things for charity.

If there is anyone who has any spare wool they do not want, we would be very grateful to receive it.
