Charity golf day a huge success

-

KPC held their annual charity golf day at The Grove Golf Club on Friday, with 20 teams competing in the event.

Despite some light showers, the day went well with a great day’s golf for those participating.

The Results from the day were: 1st Prize – Barclays 2 with a score of 98; 2nd Prize – Lodge of Sker (95); 3rd Prize – Andrew Singer Team 2 (scoring 94).

Longest drive was won by Gareth Howell of Swim Co, with nearest the pin Dai Hughes of Lodge of Sker. KPC held their usual Lost Balls competition, which this year totalled 175. Closest guesses at 174 and 176 were by Phil Merriman of Weldec and Lee Owen.

KPC would like to thank all teams who took part, including several who have supported the event for many years, and the new teams joining the event this year. Also huge thanks to Jonathan Brenchley of Barclays for match-funding the raffle/ auction held on the day, and Co-op Porthcawl for kindly donating some very welcome refreshments for the teams to take out on the day. Thanks to all who supported through raffle and auction prizes.

The event continued into the evening with excellent entertainment by duo “Phil & Ash”.

It is hoped the charity day will have raised around £3,000 for the charity. Alison Mawby Project Development Manager, KPC Youth & Community, Pyle
