Fill bag to help charity shop

-

SHOPPERS are in for a treat thanks to the refit of a charity shop.

For just £5 or £7.50 they will be able to take a carrier bag, or a black bin bag, to the Storehouse Community Shop and fill it with as many items as possible.

The Aberkenfig shop is run by local churches to support work in the community, in particular a debt help centre.

But with new flooring, lighting and decor due to be installed, all stock must go before the workmen move in.

Stephen Pare, vicar of Llansantffraid, Bettws and Aberkenfig, said: “We have a huge stock and cannot store it all.

“For £5 and bringing a carrier bag, you can have a bag as full as you can get it. For £7.50 you can bring a black bag and fill that with any of the items on the shop floor – but not the fittings!

“This will take place on Tuesday, August 1, and Wednesday, August 2. The shop will then close for two weeks and reopen with a new look, new name and new coordinator.

“The shop raises funds to support our Christian’s Against Poverty Debt Centre.”
