Town Council: The new members of the Bridgend Town Council recently held their first Bridgend regeneration public focus group in Carnegie House.

Town Councillor Nicole Burnett who is also a Bridgend County Borough Councillor led the new group.

Ten teams were sent out around the town recording their observations of how Bridgend could be seen by visitors.

Nicole was pleased that there were many positive points raised, with special praise for the lovely town hanging baskets and flower tower displays.

There were of course many negatives, but by looking at the comments, Nicole says that many of them are easily solved with a ‘sturdy brush and a bucket of water’.

The general unkempt nature of the town, litter, chewing gum, weeds and dirty windows and pavements seem to be the biggest problems.
