Sunday Services: All Saints Church Penyfai:

First Sunday of the month – Holy Eucharist at 10am.

Second Sunday of the month – Holy Eucharist 11.30am.

Third Sunday of the month – Morning Prayer, 8.30am.

Forth Sunday of the month – Benefice Eucharist 11am.

Fifth Sunday of the month – Benefice Eucharist at 11am, followed by lunch.

Smyrna Chapel Services: A Traditiona­l Sunday School Service in Smyrna Chapel Penyfai always starts at 10.30am, the evening services will take place in Smyrna Chapel starting at 6pm.

There is a Coffee Morning every Tuesday in the Smyrna chapel vestry from 10am12noon, also stalls of produce are on offer.

Bible Studies take place on Thursdays at 7.15pm and led by Marlyn James and Dorothy Evans, newcomers to the village of Penyfai are always made very welcome.

Community Council: The meeting of the Newcastle Higher Community Council took place on Tuesday July 11 at 7pm in St Johns Church Aberkenfig.

PCSO Chris Bowen attended the meeting and gave the councillor­s each a copy of the latest crime figures for Penyfai and Aberkenfig.

The Newcastle Higher Community councillor­s are very pleased that the project of the Commemorat­ion of the end of the First World War to take place in the Aberkenfig square in 2018, is progressin­g well, with the help of the head teachers and children from Penyfai and Aberkenfig.

Justine Stroud, a ceramic artist, will be working with the children to design, create and make additional ceramic mosaic panels that will be sited near to the ones already to be seen on the Aberkenfig Square

Woodland Trust: The next meeting of the Coed Penyfai Woodland Trust will now take place on the last Thursday evening at the end of August due to trustees and members

Play and community: Family’s of newcomers to the village of Penyfai with children from 2 years to four years and are looking to join a play group, for many years the Play and Community play group has been held in the scout hall on Court Coleman Road Penyfai, the playgroup is open from 9.15am-3pm in the afternoon from Monday to Friday during term time.
