Pil Primary School: Nursery have had some exciting news.

Recently the children were given six duck eggs by a grandparent.

Following a long wait of counting down the 28 days that the eggs needed to be in the incubator, Nursery are delighted to announce that they have hatched out three little ducklings.

Their names are Daisy, Donald and Lucky.

Lucky most certainly deserved his name because he took so long to break out of his shell.

The children have had great fun observing the ducklings and their comical ways, especially when they are feeding and are in the water.

They have been discussing how the ducklings are so different to the four chicks that were hatched recently in Nursery.

Parents will be able to follow the progress of the ducklings on Twitter.

Mynydd Cynffig Primary School: From Saturday, July 22 onwards, children of all ages are invited to join The Summer Reading Challenge at Pyle Library.

If they complete this super fun challenge they will be presented with a special Animal Agents medal and will receive a certificate at a special school assembly in September for their achievement!

Pupils should return to Mynydd Cynffig Primary for the Autumn Term 2017 on Monday September 4.
